These designs for interior decoration may just look good but not useful

      Many people often follow the trend and do unnecessary interior decoration designs due to their whims or blindly following the trend when decorating. But only after checking in did I realize that there was always something wrong, as if most of the time I couldn't use these decoration designs. It's really not worth it. Today, based on my own personal experience, I will take a look at which decorative designs are not practical.

1: Crystal lights on the ceiling

      The crystal lamp installed on the ceiling looks very gorgeous, and after turning on the lamp, the colors are quite gorgeous, appearing radiant at night. But the excessive and dazzling lighting is also its drawback. I have been to many friends' houses, and each one is buying various types of chandeliers, but the final effect is not really satisfactory. Although chandeliers can play a decorative role, it is important to pay attention to the brightness of the home.

      The brightness of these lighting fixtures is either too dazzling or too dim to see objects clearly, often requiring another lamp to assist in lighting, which is not practical. Moreover, if crystal lamps are used for a long time, the gaps will be filled with dust, which not only affects hygiene but also weakens lighting.

      Personal suggestion: Choose a seamless ceiling light with a simple design. The light is uniform, bright but not harsh, and can be viewed directly. At close range, the texture is full, and from afar, it is completely unobtrusive from the ceiling. It is indeed a representative of simple and elegant lighting fixtures. And it seamlessly fits with the top surface, so there's no need to worry about mosquitoes getting into the lampshade and not coming out in summer.

2:Shoe cabinet changing stool

      Some bloggers online have designed a shoe changing stool area in the hallway cabinet. Below is a cabinet where you can change shoes while sitting, and above is a hook that can hang clothes and bags. At first, I thought it was quite practical.

      But after using it for a long time, I realized that the practicality of this design is far from what I imagined. To make a shoe changing stool, the size of the cabinet was compressed, which is quite a waste of space. Moreover, changing shoes is just a matter of seconds, and few family members go to sit. It's better to open a cabinet to store more things.

      Compared to using a cabinet to make a seat, I think it's far from being as practical as a good-looking stool. It not only serves as a decoration, but also solves the problem of changing shoes and seating.

3: Semi open kitchen

      There is no doubt that a semi open kitchen is a very fashionable design, and many people feel that the restaurant space is too crowded, so they have made this design. This kitchen style is also very elegant and beautiful, but as a place with the strongest fireworks atmosphere, practicality and delicacy should also be taken into consideration.

      Even if you are careful when cooking, the traditional Chinese cooking method is still full of oil fumes. Over time, it will definitely be troublesome, especially when my restaurant still has a wooden floor. One day, I suddenly discovered that the floor is sticky to my feet and there is a layer of oil stains floating on it. If the bedroom is close to the kitchen, it is very likely that it will also affect the bedroom.

4: Metal skirting line

      In the current era of minimalist decoration style, how can I not try installing metal extremely narrow skirting lines? It has been proven that I have simplified the problem. Any minimalist thing, construction is really not "minimalist" at all. The coordination of the front and back processes of this material, as well as the installation, are not worry free.

      Firstly, during the paint disclosure stage, the workers were not informed about the vertical position of the skirting line, resulting in a large gap in the installed skirting line. This is not a big deal, and what's even more frustrating is that these gaps can only be treated with glue, resulting in a mess. The original intention was to simplify, but by doing so, the biggest advantage of metal skirting lines was also lost.

      Personal suggestion: I think solid wood baseboard is expensive. You can try PVC baseboard, which has the same texture as solid wood, but the price is much cheaper. There is no need for internal and external corners or plugs, and the front transition without buckles is simpler and more beautiful. It can be directly assembled and installed. And the wooden plastic skirting line has good waterproof, deformation resistance, and moth resistance, and is not afraid of moisture or water. Currently, it can be customized in any color.

5. Half wall wood veneer

      Wood veneers are generally used for decorating walls, enriching wall colors and decorative purposes. However, the wooden veneer on the half wall can create a huge contrast between the blank wall and the monotonous wooden veneer, making the wall appear very monotonous.

      When using wood veneers, it is often necessary to match the overall design with the color tones of the wood veneers to achieve a beautiful effect. I personally recommend using PVC wall panels, which are very convenient to install and remove and will not have permanent residue. The colors are diverse and can be easily matched to achieve the desired effect. Even if not satisfied, it can be easily disassembled until the installation is satisfactory.
