Wood particle board

Also known as bagasse board. It is a kind of Engineered wood made from wood or other lignocellulosic materials, which is glued under the action of heat and pressure after applying adhesive.

Its structure is relatively uniform, and its processing performance is good. It can be processed into large format boards according to needs, making it a good raw material for making furniture of different specifications and styles. The finished particle board does not need to be dried again and can be used directly, with good sound absorption and insulation performance. But it also has its inherent drawbacks, as the edges are rough and easy to absorb moisture, so the furniture edge sealing process made of particle board is particularly important. In addition, due to the large volume of particle board, furniture made from it is also relatively heavy compared to other boards.

It is recommended to use it as a cabinet body and door for making wardrobes, with good stability, low price, and high cost-effectiveness. However, it is not recommended to use it in large areas, which may lead to excessive formaldehyde. In recent years, the variety of particle board products has been continuously extended, and the particle materials and adhesives used have been continuously innovated to become more environmentally friendly. Currently, good particle boards are actually one of the most environmentally friendly boards.

Density board

Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), also known as Density Fiberboard, is a board made from wood fibers or other plant fibers, prepared from fibers, applied with synthetic resin, and pressed under heating and pressure.

The physical properties of the density board are excellent, the material is uniform, and there is no dehydration problem. The surface is smooth and flat, the material is fine and dense, the performance is stable, the edges are firm, and it is easy to shape, avoiding problems such as decay and insect infestation. In terms of bending strength and impact strength, it is superior to particle board, and the decorative properties of the board surface are excellent, especially compared to the appearance of solid wood furniture. The disadvantage is that it is not moisture-proof, swells when exposed to water, and has a larger load-bearing deformation than homogeneous solid wood particle boards over a long period of time.

Suitable for making decorative doors, but with the highest formaldehyde content, most of the glue used is urea formaldehyde glue, which can easily lead to excessive formaldehyde. Therefore, it is not recommended for making cabinet bodies, but is more suitable for vacuum molding.

Ecological board

In a broad sense, ecological board is equivalent to melamine veneer, which is called melamine impregnated plastic film paper facing Engineered wood. It is a decorative board made by immersing paper with different colors or textures in ecological board resin adhesive, drying it to a certain degree of curing, paving it on the surface of chipboard, moisture-proof board, medium density fiberboard, plywood, blockboard or other hard fiberboard, and hot pressing.

The formaldehyde content is low, and the texture is soft and easy to process. It can be processed on the woodworking site, which is very convenient and suitable for making cabinet bodies, but not suitable for making cabinet doors because they are prone to deformation.

Solid wood fingerboard

The finger joint board is composed of multiple wooden boards that are spliced together, and there is no longer any pressure on the upper and lower boards. Due to the use of serrated interfaces between vertical wooden boards, similar to the cross docking of two fingers, the strength and appearance quality of the wood are enhanced and improved, so it is called the finger joint board. Used for high-quality materials such as furniture, cabinets, wardrobes, etc. It is mainly used for woodworking and cabinet making, with less adhesive used and good environmental protection, but with weaker strength and easy deformation and cracking.

OrientedStrandBoard

The OrientedStrandBoard is dried and deoiled under the action of high temperature and pressure. The directional structure of OrientedStrandBoard refers to the vertical layout with a flat surface and the horizontal layout of the core layer is planned. After the restructuring of the wood grain structure, the processing is more convenient and the waterproof and moisture-proof performance is improved. At present, it is the fastest growing board in the world. It has been widely used in construction, decoration, furniture, packaging and other fields in North America, Europe, Japan and other developed countries. It is an upgraded product of blockboard and plywood.

Multilayer board

The production method of multi-layer boards generally consists of first making the inner layer graphics, then using printing and etching to make a single or double-sided substrate, which is included in the designated interlayer, and then heated, pressurized, and bonded. The subsequent drilling is the same as the plating through hole method for double-sided boards.

Suitable for making cabinet bodies, with good moisture resistance, high cost-effectiveness, and good load-bearing performance. It is commonly used in kitchen and bathroom cabinets, but cannot be used for making cabinet doors because they are easily deformed.
